10 Designer Clothing Items You Secretly Want

If you're always at the cutting edge of style, then you'll know what to wear when, and which colours, and designers are in fashion. If not then you might not know what all the fuss is about designer clothing, and why you need it.

Here's what you need to know

1. A designer handbag can be bought because it is fashionable or stylish. If you want something quality that will last, and represent value for money over many years, then perhaps a muted colour or design will be more appropriate than a handbag that might be highly fashionable now, but will look silly in a year's time.

2. The same goes for designer shoes too. You might want a pair of shoes for wearing on special occasions, or some that you'll wear everyday. Only you can decide which ones will represent the best value for money, and be worn the most.

3. Designer glasses are an obvious choice, and if you wear your glasses all the time, then why not splash out on a pair of comfy frames from your favourite designer, or that really suite your personality?

4. Designer sunglasses are always popular, and if you can't quite afford the celebrity clothes why not wear the same sunglasses that they wear? Perhaps you might even be thought of as a celeb yourself? Don't forget that you can wear them all year round, so they're not just for summer.

5. A stylish designer dress can be a shred investment. You might choose one that you know you'll wear often, or one that like the shoes, might only be worn on special occasions. Whichever you choose, you're sure to feel a million dollars when you wear it.

6. Maybe there's a certain designer who's clothes just fit you well, and really suit you. You might think that it's worth the expense to have well fitting clothes that look good. Maybe you'll even wear them for work, so that you can look good during the day as well as when out for the evening.

7. Another obvious designer piece is a nice watch. Perhaps you're favourite designer brand does watches, and you want to show your allegiance with a nice watch.

8. Designer jewellery such as earrings, bracelets and necklaces are also a nice and discreet way to make a change form the mass produced and high street brands that everybody wears. You might want a logo, or a colour scheme or another design that isn't so obvious to those who aren't as well up on their designers as you are.

9. Other designer accessories you might choose to go with your clothing might include hair clips luggage or key rings. Perhaps you haven't yet found the perfect dress, shoes or handbag, or don't want to blow your entire budget on one piece. Why not see if you can get more for your money with lots of smaller items?

10. Designer swimwear is also a great idea, especially if you a big fan of beach holidays, or just lounging by the pool. Why not combine a nice designer bikini with a pair of designer sunglasses and see if people will think you're the celeb next time you're on holiday?!

Now you know more about designer items, and what you want and what's right for you, perhaps now is the time to get the designer swimwear, handbag or shoes that you really want.

Ian Flaherty Designer Cufflinks

Visit Ian at his studio in Lavender Hill Clapham and you'll find him working at the coal face with his subordinates, unafraid to get his hands dirty. A Scouser by birth and the son of a builder he chose a different career path that lead him out of working class Liverpool and into London, the fashion capitol of the world. After designing for many prestigious brand names Ian thought it was time to harness his energies and direct them toward developing his own brand. It's been a long road from Liverpool, now his delightful cufflinks are displayed in some of the most famous department stores around the world, including Selfridges and John Lewis (UK), Nordstroms (USA) David Jones (Australia) plus stores in Japan with un-pronounceable names. The cufflink market is becoming more crowded as designer brands cash in on the growing popularity of men's jewellery. Plus there is the lure of manufacturing in Asia as a way to increase profits, but not without risk of negative effect on your reputation. Increasing profits at your customer's expense does not make good long term business sense. Ian's a big fan of traditional British craftsmanship and prefers the workmanship he gets from his own Battersea studio.

Ian's designs are hand cast in pure English pewter, because it gives the most accurate result. Each item is double plated in rhodium, a precious metal derived from platinum, and polished before being hand-enamelled or inset with Swarovski crystal. Then polished and inspected again to make sure it's flawless. Rhodium prevents tarnishing and adds functionality to form making them extremely hard wearing, less likely to be scarred thus adding value. His cufflinks don't tarnish and neither will his reputation. His customers keep coming back for more precisely because he does not cut corners.

The bespoke market survives amidst a mass manufacturing revolution, delivering products in accordance with an ever growing demand. Other reputable designers are also gaining recognition for their talent, Jo Downs, Babbette Wasserman, Veritas and Tateossian. Their styles differ enough to maintain originality and the majority of their cufflinks are made in England. Ian literally draws his design inspiration from the world around him. He's always looking at patterns and reflections, sketching things that catch his eye as he walks down the street. His designs have been copied, often blatantly by many big names. He continues his work happily labelled the quiet achiever, carving out a name for himself in the fashion rock face of. The only thing that overshadows Ian's immense talent is his sincerity; his working class principles remain intact. Having a pair of his cufflinks in your collection is a must; you'll reveal their unique story each time you bind your links to cuff. Now his cufflinks are available on http://www.patrickmcmurray.com and other quality shops.
